The City of Alexandria, represented by Mayor Justin Wilson, Vice Mayor Amy Jackson, and members of the Alexandria City Council, formalized a proclamation to commend Virginia Tech on the occasion of its 150th anniversary. The special event was held at the Virginia Tech Innovation Campus headquarters in Potomac Yard.

Since 2018, we have been partnering with the city of Alexandria to construct the new campus. And despite a global pandemic and supply chain challenges, I am thrilled to share with all of you that our project remains on schedule. This is a generational effort for us and our community. And so congratulations on 150 years. Congratulations on the next 150 years. And we're excited that that next hundred 50 years is going to be in an expanded partnership with the city of Alexandria. So, well done. And the city of Alexandria. and I call this observance to the attention of all citizens and admiration for this institution's extraordinary history, unparalleled legacy of excellence and invaluable contributions to our city, the Commonwealth, the nation, and the world. So I just like to thank everybody here for being here, for the folks who are here, residents of the city of Alexandria. We were very proud to be part of this city and part of the region. And we look forward to that next 150 years. We are very firmly focused on that. We've had a year-and-a-half of celebrating the last hundred and 50. But always with a focus on what's next. Have you raise a glass to the future of our partnership for the next hundred and 50 years for the City of Alexandria, Virginia Tech. Thank you. And go Hokies and go Alexandria.
