We are honoring our past and celebrating our present. Our Sesquicentennial Celebration is an opportunity to propel us into the future, charting a course toward greater engagement and positive impact.
Addison Caldwell hiked more than 26 miles to Blacksburg in 1872 becoming the first student to enroll at Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College. Driven by a passion to learn, his path to an education at what's now known as Virginia Tech is one that countless others follow 150 years later. A place where students and educators come to expand their knowledge. A community that continues to evolve on a foundation set by our students, our faculty, our alumni. We are a community that perseveres. We will prevail. We will prevail. We will prevail. We are Virginia Tech. Prevails and solves problems that impact lives around the world: Clean water, data security, a global pandemic. We're prepared. We answer the call. We're ready to take on the future. For the 21st century, we're expanding our presence throughout the Commonwealth, determined to confront complex problems. Along with our partners at Carilion, our School of Medicine and Fralin Biomedical Research Institute are where health science and technology tackle challenges of the future, where we attract and develop the next generation of leaders. Our Innovation Campus is developing the tech talent needed in a rapidly changing world. We succeed with our skills, our diversity of ideas and people, and a desire and drive to make a difference, to serve. It's our mission, steeped in tradition, decades in the making and ready for the possibilities of the future. Our campuses across the region and the world are vital to who we are and what we aspire to be. What's your role in our next 150 years?
