Apex Entrepreneur Challenge 2019

[00:00:00] >> The Apex Center for Entrepreneurs is dedicated to helping students, faculty and alumni turn their ideas and passions into action and we do that in a variety of different ways, through different programs. One of them is the Entrepreneur Challenge that we hold every year. It's a chance for us to give students the opportunity to practice in terms of pitching their ideas to get some resources and take a step forward. [00:00:24] These pitch competitions require you to have your message like perfect and that's been hard because when you're a founder of a company you're like it's all of these things and it's going to change the world, maybe it will. But figuring out how to say what you need to say and how you're different concisely that's been very helpful for me. [00:00:44] We have a lot of different teams that have representation across campus really anywhere from the education space to computer science to engineering to agriculture. Innovation happens everywhere here on this campus. We're fortunate enough to have a variety of different judges oftentimes we're pulling from our Hokie alumni network which is great. [00:01:03] There are many people that want to be involved, to give back. We hope that they have the opportunity to make it a memorable time. If they're a judge, kind of be able to reflect back and eventually see one of these companies take off and go, I was there when they started.
