When kitchen and bath designer Ellen Cheever helped conceptualize the Center for Real Life Design at Virginia Tech in the early 1990s, she did not know it would one day house the breadth of her life’s work in a new library resource for students.
[00:00:00] >> Hi, I'm Ellen Cheever and I'm happy to be here today donating 48 years of professional work from my career as a kitchen and bath designer and educator. And all of this material is going to go in a library that we've designed here in the Center for Real Life Design at Virginia Tech. [00:00:23] The goal of this donation is to help students in a real-life center for design study a real-life career. >> If an article from 40 years ago explains a particular dilemma they're facing or a set of plans from a showroom is something they can use as they develop their career, I'll be so happy that all of this work went to good use.
