Feedback invited during strategic review of university IT operations, infrastructure
From: Office of the Senior Vice President and Chief Business Officer
Over the past year, Virginia Tech’s IT teams have enabled us to continue operations, allowing learning, teaching, and research to thrive under challenging circumstances.
Recognizing the critical role that our IT teams serve, Virginia Tech will be conducting a strategic review of the university’s IT operations, infrastructure, and protocols. The goal of this review is to ensure that the university has the tools and resources to support the evolving needs of our staff, students, researchers, and faculty.
The review process will be led by the Office of the Senior Vice President and Chief Business Officer, with support from the Office of the Vice President for Information Technology. Deloitte Consulting’s Higher Education team is partnering with the university on this review. Work will begin in mid-September and will conclude prior to the Thanksgiving holiday.
As it is critical to begin this review with a clear understanding of the various IT resources that exist throughout Virginia Tech, the participation of the university community is requested. In the coming weeks, the review team will be conducting interviews, focus groups, and surveys of students, faculty, staff, and researchers to help us understand what you think is currently working well, and where we have opportunities to improve our IT services.
In addition to these efforts, individuals are welcome to share their perspectives and insights directly with the Office of the Senior Vice President and Chief Business Officer at firstname.lastname@example.org or with consulting partner Ram Srinivasan at email@example.com.
