Building interpersonal skills and resiliency with Virginia Tech Ombuds Offices

From: Office of Postdoctoral Affairs

A collaborative partnership between the University Ombuds, Graduate School Ombuds, and the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs seeks to equip postdoctoral associates and graduate students at Virginia Tech with the skills needed to navigate interpersonal communication, conflict, and other personnel matters.

Ombuds provide neutral spaces to discuss issues related to personnel matters in the hopes of empowering individuals with the information and tools they need to address conflict or other workplace issues outside formal, university channels.

A series of workshops are planned in July and August with additional topics in development that are intended to help them thrive at Virginia Tech and beyond.

Sessions will take place in the Graduate Life Center Room F, 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., with a Zoom option. In-person attendance is encouraged for maximum engagement.

Communication Mastery - Conflict Styles with the University Ombuds

>       Tuesday, July 12
