Virginia Tech Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship Program accepting proposals

From: Research and Innovation, Office of Postdoctoral Affairs

The Virginia Tech Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship program seeks to recruit diverse and exceptional postdoctoral researchers to Virginia Tech who will work to build skills and experiences to launch their careers in addition to advancing the institution’s scholarly and research mission.

Prospective postdoctoral fellows will work with Virginia Tech faculty mentor(s) to develop a collaborative, three-page proposal focused on a Research Frontier area(s) or cybersecurity.

Proposals will be evaluated on:

  • Ability to build towards Virginia Tech research presence and portfolio in goals for that “track” - Research Frontiers or Cybersecurity
  • Ability to enhance research and scholarship of the mentor
  • Ability to enhance the professional development of the postdoc
  • Postdoc qualifications and the ability to diversify our research enterprise

Faculty mentors should review expectations and commitments for hosting a fellow on this page prior to submitting a proposal with a prospective postdoc.

The inaugural Virginia Tech Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship Program is sponsored by:

  • Commonwealth Cyber Initiative (CCI) Hub
  • CCI Southwest Virginia Node
  • Fralin Life Sciences Institute
  • Institute for Critical Technology and Applied Science

Cycle 2 proposal deadline: July 15.

Cycle 3 proposal deadline: Nov. 15.

In addition, stay tuned for a new Innovation Postdoctoral Fellowship track being developed with LAUNCH: Center for New Ventures to debut later this summer.
