Faculty Awards and Doctoral Student Grants for Research on Entrepreneurship and Innovation – April 7 submission deadline from all Virginia Tech colleges

As part of its ongoing commitment to the growth of Virginia Tech’s diverse and vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem, the Apex Center for Entrepreneurs is pleased to announce three new awards to recognize excellence in entrepreneurship and innovation research. Beginning in 2023, Apex will award two doctoral student summer research grants and a faculty research achievement prize. 

Faculty and doctoral students at any of Virginia Tech’s nine colleges are strongly encouraged to submit materials to be considered for these awards.

Faculty Research Award

This award is intended to recognize research-related achievement through conceptual and/or empirical publications by Virginia Tech faculty from any field who are engaged in the scholarly study of entrepreneurship and innovation, broadly conceived. The recipient will receive a prize of $2,500, a special award recognizing the accomplishment, and an opportunity to provide the keynote address at a Virginia Tech E&I research symposium in fall 2023. Submissions are due April 7.

Doctoral Student Summer Research Grants

These grants are intended to recognize and support conceptual and/or empirical work by doctoral students from any field who are engaged in the scholarly study of entrepreneurship and innovation. Part-time and full-time doctoral students are both eligible and are encouraged to apply. Successful applicants will receive a grant of $2,500, a special award commemorating the accomplishment, and an opportunity to present her/his research at a research symposium in fall 2023. Submissions are due April 7.
