Making PDFs accessible is easier with PREP
From: Division of Information Technology
The cloud-based software PDF Document and Remediation Platform (PREP) simplifies, automates, and accelerates converting PDF documents into accessible educational materials. Using PREP to remediate PDF documents makes them compliant with accessibility laws and Virginia Tech Policy 7215.
PREP features sophisticated AI-based auto-tag detection that improves the time-consuming and tedious tagging process, especially in making tag-nested lists and tables of contents. In addition, PREP’s built-in optical character recognition (OCR) mode recognizes documents that are of poor quality or that contain complex structures, and assists in remediating scanned documents. Since PREP is browser-based, it is available on any computer or mobile device with an internet connection.
