Seed funding for junior faculty: Apply by Feb. 1
From: The Institute for Critical Technology and Applied Science.
The Institute for Critical Technology and Applied Science (ICTAS) is soliciting proposals for seed funding through its Junior Faculty Awards program. Proposals must demonstrate an interdisciplinary, collaborative research relationship between a junior faculty member at Virginia Tech, who will serve as the PI, and other Virginia Tech faculty members. The PI and co-PIs should be from different academic disciplines; a senior faculty member in a mentorship role is desirable but not required.
ICTAS intends to award up to five grants of up to $80,000 total of direct funding only over two years ($40,000 per year for each year).
Faculty should submit applications, including a four-page technical proposal and supporting materials, by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2022.
More information and detailed application instructions are available here. Questions can be addressed to Jon Greene, ICTAS associate director for strategic development, at (540) 553-5846 or email@example.com.
ICTAS invests in interdisciplinary research through seed funding, shared lab space, and other support mechanisms; see this page for a complete list of seed funding programs.
