Hokie Wellness to offer support spaces by students for students with FEELS Peer Support Circle programming
From: Hokie Wellness
Have you heard about FEELS Peer Support Circle? It is a new and exciting mental health resource that is facilitated by students for students with the help of Hokie Wellness. FEELS facilitators are undergraduate or graduate students who will use ongoing training, supervision, and lived experiences to help support their peers.
These sessions will serve as a space for students to connect with and support fellow Hokies who are navigating their mental health concerns and emotional well-being*. Students can attend as often as they’d like and no referral, registration or swiping in is required. Participants may join for themselves or be there to support others.
Sessions will be offered twice weekly on Wednesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. and Fridays from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Newman Library Multipurpose Room.
To receive reminders and updates about these support circle sessions, students can join the listserv.**
For questions or concerns, contact Swathi Prabhu at firstname.lastname@example.org.
* Although mental health concerns and/or mental illness may come up in group, this is not a substitute for professional mental health treatment. A list of campus mental health treatment and crisis resources will be provided in each reminder email and at each session.
