Virginia Tech faculty reviewers needed for Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship Program

From: Research and Innovation, Office of Postdoctoral Affairs

The Office for Research and Innovation needs your help reviewing proposals as part of our new Virginia Tech Presidential Postdoctoral Fellowship program.

This program seeks to bring exceptional research talent to Virginia Tech where two years of funding plus a professional development allowance will be made available to selected postdoctoral fellows.

Proposals are written for a general, educated audience and so reviewers will receive a mix of proposals, some of which may more closely align with their research expertise than others.

We expect each faculty reviewer will read no more than 3-4, 3-page proposals + candidate CVs per review cycle.

We will provide a rubric to aid in scoring of applications and a means for reviewers to submit their scores online. We do not anticipate the reviewers needing to meet to discuss their scores and so faculty can score applicants at times that work for them.

Additional details on the fellowship application cycles, including when review will occur, can be found here.

If you are willing to serve as reviewer for Cycle 2 (proposals sent to reviewers July 19 and scores due Aug. 1) or Cycle 3 (proposals sent to reviewers Nov. 17 and scores due Dec. 5), please email Chris Smith, Ph.D., Postdoctoral Affairs Program Administrator, with your availability at: christsmith@vt.edu.
