Join Garland Mason, coordinator of AgrAbility Virginia and associate in the Center for Food Systems & Community Transformation, from 2-3 p.m. on Oct. 19 to hear how AgrAbility Virginia assists farmers and farm workers with illnesses, injuries, or disabilities that impede their ability to work safely, effectively, and productively.

Visit the virtual event's page to register for the event.

AgrAbility Virginia promotes safety, wellness, and accessibility on the farm through education, rehabilitative services, and assistive technology guidance and recommendations. AgrAbility Virginia offers services to farmers at no cost, supports a wide diversity of farmers and farm workers across all farming communities, and addresses a wide variety of disabling conditions in agriculture.

AgrAbility Virginia works directly with farmers experiencing disability, injury, and illness to identify assistive technologies that will improve accessibility and independence. AgrAbility Virginia also provides training and outreach related to farm stress and mental health to farmers and service providers.

AgrAbility Virginia is administered by Virginia Tech, Virginia State University and Easterseals UCP North Carolina/Virginia, Inc., and Virginia Cooperative Extension with funding from USDA.
