Homecoming parade, spirit rally traffic, parking impacts

The traffic and parking impacts below will be in place to accommodate homecoming events. University members are encouraged to use alternative transportation methods like walking and Blacksburg Transit to get around campus.

Thursday, Oct. 14

Stadium Lot closure - parade staging: All resident student vehicles must be removed from the Stadium Lot (Lot #2) by 7 p.m. The lot will be closed to new parking starting at 5 p.m. through the end of the Oct. 16 home football game.

Drillfield parking impacts - parade and rally staging: Parking on the southside of the Drillfield (War Memorial Gym side) will be closed beginning at 5 p.m. ADA and event personnel parking will remain available. Parking will be unavailable through the end of the rally and fireworks.

Friday, Oct. 15

Road closures, parking impacts - parade: The homecoming parade will stage in the Stadium Lot and begin on Beamer Way. The parade will turn right onto Washington Street and march down to Main Street where it will turn left and head down to Alumni Mall. The parade will turn left onto Alumni Mall and will end under Torgersen Bridge (view a map of the parade route).

Stadium Lot and Drillfield (southside) parking remain closed.
