From: Virginia Tech Parking and Transportation

Beginning Aug. 8 at 8 a.m., students will be able to purchase parking permits for the new Student Remote Parking Lot located at the intersection of Innovation and Smoot Drives between the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center (CRC) and the new airport expansion.

The lot will be serviced by the Blacksburg Transit (BT) CRC route. Regular scheduled weekday service will run every 15 minutes from the start of service at 7 a.m. until 6:45 p.m. Passengers requiring drop-off after 6:45 p.m. during full service hours should notify the driver prior to the stop. 

This is the second year a low-cost ($30 annually) remote parking permit has been available for students.

All student parking permits go on sale Aug. 8 at 8 a.m. The permits include:

  • Resident (on–campus)
  • Commuter (Oak Lane/off–campus)
  • Perry Street Commuter/Graduate
  • Student Remote Parking Lot (referenced above)
  • Graduate
  • Motorcycle (purchase permits in-person at the Parking and Transportation Office at 505 Beamer Way)

Online payment is accepted via Visa, MasterCard, or by using student online accounts. Permits can also be purchased in-person at Parking and Transportation at 505 Beamer Way, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.

For in-person sales, students must bring their Hokie Passport and vehicle registration, and are advised to fill out the registration form in advance to save time.
