Virginia Tech Mail Services summer operational hours

Mail Services thanks the university community for its continued support of Mail Services and PickUPP. As the department transitions to summer operating hours, please take note of key dates impacting services: 

University Commencement - May 13: 

In alignment with the 10 a.m. opening of Virginia Tech’s Blacksburg campus offices to accommodate commencement traffic on May 13, Mail Services and PickUPP operations will operate on a two hour delay. Abbreviated departmental mail deliveries will be made throughout the day. 

Owens Mail Center - Starting May 16: 

Owens Mail Center will begin summer operations hours of 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. 

Employee Appreciation Day - May 18:

To accommodate Virginia Tech Employee Appreciation Day, services offered by Department Mail and Owens Mail Center will be shortened on this day:

• Department Mail will run abbreviated routes during the morning hours 
• Owens Mail Center will be open until 10 a.m.

Normal summer operational hours will resume on May 19 for both Departmental Mail and Owens Mail Center.

Virginia Tech Mail Services Service Interruptions - May 25:

To accommodate operational updates, Department Mail and Owens Mail Center will be temporarily closed from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. on May 25.  

• Department Mail will perform abbreviated routes through 11 a.m. and resume routes after 2 p.m.  
• Owens Mail Center will close at 11 a.m. and reopen at 2 p.m. 

Normal summer operational hours will resume on May 26 for both Departmental Mail and Owens Mail Center.

Summer Holidays:

Mail Services will close in observance of the following holidays: 

• Memorial Day - May 30
• Juneteenth - June 20
• Independence Day - July 4
