Graduating this semester? Pledge to become a 'green graduate' and receive a graduation cord

Become a Green Graduate at Virginia Tech by pledging to foster a sustainable world.

The Green Graduates of Virginia Tech program offers graduating students the opportunity to take a personal sustainability pledge that encourages them to think about the environmental impact of their jobs, travel, and other adventures after graduation.

To honor students who take the pledge, the Office of Sustainability awards all pledge signers with a free green cord for graduation.

Sign the pledge here for spring 2023 graduation and pick up a green cord at one of the following locations:

  • Wednesday, April 26: 10 a.m. - noon: McBryde Hall 308
  • Thursday, April 27: 2 - 3:30 p.m.: Wallace Hall 407
  • Friday, April 28: Noon - 2 p.m.: Squires Student Center Info Booth A - located on first floor, next to Dining Services office and across from Au Bon Pain coffee booth
  • Tuesday, May 2: 2 - 4 p.m.: Squires Student Center Info Booth B - located on the first floor, across from ATMs
  • Wednesday, May 3: 10 a.m. - Noon: McBryde Hall 308
  • Thursday, May 4 -Wednesday, May 10: 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.: Office of Sustainability - located at Sterrett Facilities Complex - 230 Sterrett Drive, Blacksburg, VA 24061
