Impacts to Perry Street and Perry Street Garage:

Visitors that are returning to campus for the first time in several months, should be advised that Perry Street is permanently closed (authorized vehicles may enter). The Perry Street Garage is still operational and can be entered via Prices Fork Road.

All campus construction sites are highlighted year round on the Campus Closures Map Viewer

The ongoing efforts near the residence halls and West Campus Drive are part of Virginia Tech’s chilled water project, a three-year capital construction project that will improve chilled water capacity and distribution across campus. It will also deliver enhanced operational and energy efficiency and cost savings for the university.

The Perry Street closure is part of the reimagining of the region to improve the long-term transit experience on the Virginia Tech Blacksburg campus through the Blacksburg Transit Multi-Modal Transit Facility.

Questions regarding pathway and road closures can be directed to Mike Dunn at mikedunn@vt.edu or 540-231-7641 or Gerard Folio at gfolio@vt.edu or 540-231-2269.
