Stroubles Creek riparian zone enhancement operations to occur over winter break

In preparation for riparian tree planting that will occur in spring 2024, the riparian zone along Stroubles Creek between Duck Pond Drive and Plantation Road will be renovated from approximately Dec. 22 - Jan. 2. 

Work will include maintenance and removal of invasive species, so that appropriate and resilient species may be established. Ongoing invasive species controls will continue for several years as these new trees are cultivated. This work closes the gap between the Duck Pond and the Stream Lab further downstream, supporting sustainability along Stroubles Creek on Virginia Tech properties.
