Lunch and Learn: School Readiness Happens at Home – April 4 at noon

During this year’s Week of the Young Child, held each year April 1 – 7, Virginia Tech is offering our community and opportunity to celebrate early learning, young children, their teachers, families, and communities.

Please join us on April 4 at noon for a virtual lunch and learn with Cynthia Hutchinson, Ed.S, program director of  Excellence in Children’s Early Language and Literacy (ExCELL). The topic will be School Readiness Happens at Home.

During the event, Hutchinson will address how parents can promote language and critical thinking skills relevant to kindergarten readiness. She will also show examples of how everyday activities and routines can contribute to developing these important skills.

Please register in advance for this event; the last day to register will be March 31. A Zoom link for the event will be sent to all registrants by April 3.
