Hokie Wellness offers a range of programs during February. They include:

Feb. 7, 14, 21, 28, 3-4 p.m.: Koru Basic Mindfulness: The four-week virtual program will help attendees learn more about mindfulness and how meditation can help improve our mindfulness. We have found that folks get a lot more out of Koru if they stick with it from beginning to end, therefore attendance at all four sessions is required. Please double check your calendar and then register.

Feb. 8, 20, 24, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.: Mental Health First Aid: Mental Health First Aid takes the fear and hesitation out of starting conversations about mental health and substance use problems by improving understanding and providing an action plan that teaches people to safely and responsibly identify and address a potential mental illness or substance use disorder. MHFA training sessions have limited seats and this opportunity is in high demand. Before registering, please make sure you can commit completing the pre-work (which takes up to two hours) at least two days prior to the instructor-led session and attending the entirety of the instructor-led session. Note: Registration closes seven days prior to each training date. Registration is required.

Feb. 13, 4-4:30 p.m.: TimelyCare Information Session: TimelyCare is a virtual health mental wellness service available to full-time faculty and staff and non-student wage employees at no cost. In this virtual session, employees will learn more about the three free services offered by TimelyCare: free individual counseling sessions, TalkNow on-demand mental health support, and health coaching. Registration is required.

Feb. 14, 3-4 p.m.: Fall in Love with Credit: Want to develop a healthy and safe relationship with your credit score? Fall in Love with Credit will discuss the anatomy of the credit score and give you tips to boost your score in a financially responsible way. Registration is required for this virtual program.

Feb. 22, 12:30-1:30 p.m.: Sleep Better Techniques: Everyone at one point or another will experience sleep problems such as sleep deprivation, sleeplessness, and/or sleep disturbances. This virtual program will provide information on what happens during sleep, along with tips on how to start reaping the benefits of great sleep. Registration is required.

Feb. 23, 12:15-1 p.m.: Brain Break: Hokie Wellness invites you to the North End Center to take a break with crafts. Bring your knitting, coloring, or whatever makes you happy. We will provide some supplies to make a glitter jar! Feel free to bring your lunch and take the time to relax. The event will be held at the North End Center, room 2410. No registration is needed.
