From: College of Natural Resources and Environment

The Virginia Forest Landowner Education Program in the College of Natural Resources and Environment, in collaboration with Virginia Cooperative Extension, is offering multiple conferences for forest landowners this spring.

The Woods and Wildlife Conferences will offer a variety of topics aimed at providing private woodland owners with information, tools, and personal contacts to help them be effective stewards of their lands. Two dates and locations are available:

Southwest Woods and Wildlife Conference – Wytheville, VA – Feb. 11

Northern VA Woods & Wildlife Conference – Culpeper, VA – Feb. 25

The Introduction to Forest Carbon Markets Conference will provide foresters, landowners, county leaders, and those interested with an introduction to the emerging forest carbon markets in Virginia. Attendees will learn about how forest carbon markets work, what opportunities exist for landowners, and how carbon programs might fit with land management goals.

Introduction to Forest Carbon Markets – Chester, VA – March 3 (Note: a  virtual option is available for this event).

Pre-registration to these conferences is required, as space is limited. The registration fee includes breakfast and lunch.
