University partnership provides access to technology industry community in D.C. area

Virginia Tech is a Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) academic partner, supporting events and programs year-round. Recognizing the tremendous impact of the information technology sector, both currently and in the future, the partnership reflects NVTC and Virginia Tech's joint commitment to ensuring the greater Washington, D.C., metro area has a robust technology ecosystem and a strong pipeline of highly-skilled technology workers. NVTC is one of the nation’s largest technology councils. 

Employees are encouraged to register for a login to https://nvtc.org/ by inputting “Virginia Tech” as their company name. There is no employee fee for this membership.

NVTC also provides a student membership for an annual $25 fee. Once a member, with a login, students may register for any event at low student-discounted prices or no cost and access the Communities of Interest Thrive platform.

Employee benefits: 

  • 15 percent discount on in-person event tickets.

  • Complimentary in-person event participation with NVTC Communities of Interest.

  • Access to NVTC Communities of Interest Thrive platform. Each Community has its own dedicated central hub that fosters member collaboration and enables NVTC members to share strategic advice, best practices, solve challenges, and develop new approaches. NVTC Communities are:
