The Legon Lab at Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC is seeking volunteers to participate in cutting edge research on the effects of low-intensity focused ultrasound (LIFU) and pain management.

LIFU is a noninvasive brain stimulation method. This study will involve multiple sessions over a few weeks which will include a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan, a computed tomography (CT) scan, LIFU, testing consisting of heating and cooling sensations on the skin, and questionnaires.

Each session will take about 2-2.5 hours for a total of about 11.5 hours. Additional optional sessions will be 2-2.5 hours, up to 9 additional study hours.

To be eligible, participants must be healthy adults aged 18-65, available to participate in Roanoke for a multi-session study, and meet all MRI and CT safety qualifications.

Participants will be compensated approximately $230 for study participation, with optional visit compensation of up to and additional $180.
