Hokie Wellness offers a wide range of programs during November. They include:

Nov. 4, 12-1 p.m.: Budgeting and Saving for Beginners: Managing money can be challenging, especially for new professionals. This session will discuss budgeting techniques and strategies you can implement to have the quality of life you desire while living within your means and working towards financial goals. Registration is required.

Nov. 9, 11:30 a.m.- 12 p.m.: Stress Reduction Tips: Handling stress takes effort but the results are worth it. Learn some tips to relieve stress in this virtual program. Registration is required.  

Nov. 10, 12-1 p.m.: Healthy Nutrition on a Budget: Despite rising food prices, healthy eating doesn’t have to break the bank. Learn smart strategies that help fuel the body with nourishing foods, even on a tight budget in this virtual workshop. Participants will receive a recipe booklet containing affordable, nutritious, and tasty recipes. Registration is required.

Nov. 11, 2-3 p.m.: Resiliency in the Workplace: Key to Connection: Building meaningful connections in the workplace can be difficult, and many are navigating what it means to foster connection as the workforce adapts to a new dynamic of both in-office and remote team members. Learn how social connection is key to promoting resiliency, discuss different types of social support, and practice communication skills. The workshop will be held at the North End Center, room 2420. Registration is required.

Nov. 15, 17, and 30, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.: Mental Health First Aid: Mental Health First Aid helps you assist someone experiencing a mental health or substance use-related crisis. Training sessions have limited seats and are in high demand. Participants must complete the pre-work at least two days prior to the session and attend the entirety of the instructor-led online session. Nov. 16, 12-1 p.m.: Mindful Journaling: Reconnect with your sense of purpose by working through a collection of guided journaling prompts. This virtual workshop offers a time of intentional and mindful reflection. Registration is required.

Nov. 17, 12:30-1 p.m.: Unwinding Anxiety: In this 30-minute virtual program adapted from Judson Brewer’s book “Unwinding Anxiety,” we discuss techniques to untangle habits built around anxiety and how to develop new, healthier habits using mindfulness techniques. Registration is required.

Nov. 17 and 18, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.: The DMV at Virginia Tech: Services offered include the REAL ID, driver’s license application, vehicle registration, address changes, vehicle titles, and more. Appointments are 15 minutes, and each transaction requires a separate appointment. (For example, if you want to get your REAL ID and register a vehicle, you would need to register for two appointments). The event will be held at the North End Center, room 2410. Visit to learn what you will need to complete your transaction(s). Appointment registration information will be provided at a later date.

Nov. 18, 12-12:45 p.m., Mindful Eating 10: This virtual program covers the basics of mindful eating and how it can bring greater presence and enjoyment to meal times, increase attunement to hunger and fullness signals, and serve as a tool for nurturing a healthier relationship with food. Participants are encouraged to have a food of choice on hand with which to engage in a short mindful eating exercise. Registration is required.
