Users of Kaseya system management software affected by ransomware attack

On Friday, July 2, a ransomware attack was launched against Kaseya, a provider of IT management software. Several units at Virginia Tech use the Kaseya software and have been affected, as have more than 1,000 other clients of Kaseya across the world.

We will update the community as we have more information to share. Any individuals who feel they may be subject to this attack are asked to report the incident here.

The Information Technology (IT) Security Office provides tools, services, education, awareness, and guidance necessary for all users to work towards a safe and secure IT environment for teaching, research, outreach, and the conduct of university business. The office is also responsible for the IT Security Lab.
