    Virginia Tech welcomes TechGirls for 12-day camp , video

    TechGirls is an international exchange program designed to inspire and empower high school girls from the Middle East, North Africa, and Central Asia in STEM. The 60+ girls visited Virginia Tech to learn from faculty experts in coding, programming, and cybersecurity. They also visited local businesses for a job shadowing day. Their visit was facilitated by the Center for Enhancement of Engineering Diversity (CEED) at Virginia Tech. TechGirls is a program of the U.S. Department of State, administered by Legacy International.

    Hispanic College Institute empowering students in 2019 , video

    Over 130 rising juniors and seniors came to the campus of Virginia Tech, to take part in college preparatory activities and attend STEM related workshops. The yearly program is presented by the Virginia Latino Higher Education Network (VALHEN). Its purpose is to empower and mentor students over the hurdles of seeking higher education.

    Virginia Tech hosts pre-college program for JROTC students , video

    JROTC STEM Leadership Academy is a weeklong residential camp for high school students who have previously participated in the Army 4th Brigade JROTC program in their high school. The main purpose and goal of this program is to introduce students to the various fields of science, technology, and engineering and experience a modified military environment so that they can become involved in STEM, ROTC and the Corps of Cadets as collegiate undergrads whether at Virginia Tech or otherwise, leading to careers in STEM. Participants take part in hands on activities, lab tours and complete a design project, culminating in a showcase on the last day.
