Researchers at Virginia Tech, led by Professor Marcella Kelly of the Department of Fish and Wildlife Conservation, have placed collars counted with cameras on black bears. The cameras are providing windows--like this video of a bear overturning rocks while foraging--into the day-to-day moments of a bear's life.
This minor integrates perspectives and tools from natural and social sciences with those from art, design, and humanities. Students will acquire an expansive, multicollege conceptualization of sustainability, and complementary set of tools and strategies to empower them to lead in a diverse, interconnected and dynamic world.
