Campers gain experience in flying different types of drones, building their own drone, and a flying competition. Imagination is a camp hosted by a partnership between College of Engineering, the Center for Enhancement of Engineering Diversity (CEED), Institute for Critical Technology and Applied Science (ICTAS), Wing, and Mid-Atlantic Aviation Partnership (MAAP).

As the principal investigator of the 3D Interaction Group, his research focuses on virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR). Students in his lab demonstrate research on user interfaces with AR glasses that may one day replace the need for smartphones and computer screens.

Students and professionals took part in GlycoMIP Research group's first in-person Summer School. The Summer School included a Rheology competition and was funded by the National Science Foundation. Based out of Fralin Life Science Institute, GlycoMIP is broadening research participation in the field of glycomaterials for students from non-R1 universities and HBCUs. GlycoMIP is dedicated to training the next generation of glycomaterials scientists. Glycomaterials are produced by every living organism. They contain chains of sugars, called glycans, that have critical roles in health and disease. Of the four building blocks of life — glycans, proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids — glycans are the most complex and are the most challenging to understand. The tool set for understanding these glycans, so crucial to life itself, lags far behind those available for understanding DNA, RNA, and proteins.

Students learn bee biology, the social organization of the honeybee colony, and colony management practices. Hands-on learning is key to bee management and helps students overcome fear of bees through proper safety gear and practices.

The Health Education & Awareness Team (HEAT) is a group of students trained by the health educators at Hokie Wellness to deliver fun, interactive, and educational health and wellness programs to students. HEAT conducted vaping prevention education sessions called, “Being Vape Free Is Up To You,” for Blacksburg Middle School students. Students were given information about the health impacts of vaping, strategies to deal with peer pressure, and resources on how to stop vaping.

They create 32 "sprays" of flowers for the stones and 3 wreaths. Creating the flower arrangements allows students to feel connected with those impacted by April 16 and provides a sense of community outreach with Virginia Tech's Ut Prosim attitude.

Students in Eric Wiseman's Arboriculture Field Skills course at Virginia Tech are learning how to care for and manage trees in urban communities through a skills course in climbing. An arborist may need to climb a tall tree to diagnose a disease or safely remove limbs that cannot be reached from below. Students are exposed to key skills and safety practices while climbing trees on the Virginia Tech campus, skills that will help them properly plan and manage urban forests in their future career.

Congressman Wittman is in his 7th term and serves on the Armed Services and Natural Resources committees in the U.S. House of Representatives. Congressman Wittman (VT ’81) was a member of the Corps of Cadets and Army ROTC and studied biology. The Hokies on the Hill program provides opportunities for students to intern on Capitol Hill and gain insights into operations and government procedures.

Dr. Menah Pratt-Clarke delivers an original Virginia Tech Sesquicentennial poetry reading at the 1872 celebration. The Council on Virginia Tech History, in conjunction with the More Than a Fraction Foundation (affiliated with the African American descendants of Solitude and Smithfield), hosted musicians, dancers, poets, and community members who unveiled historical markers, performed at Moss Arts Center, and gathered at the Merry Oak to commemorate the 150 years of the university.
