About her: Venable participated in both the Presidential Global Scholars and Rising Sophomore Abroad programs. In fall 2015, she was one of six undergraduate students asked to serve on the Beyond Boundaries university visioning project. She is president of the Bridges to Prosperity at Virginia Tech chapter, responsible for coordinating the administrative, fundraising, design and construction, and development activities. She participated in trips to Haiti and Guatemala to work on three bridge projects. 

Activities: College of Engineering Dean’s Team, a Department of Civil Engineering ambassador, and freshman honors seminar teaching assistant

Other awards: Dean’s List, University Honors, 2015 Marshall Scholarship finalist, Wayne and Claire Horton Fellowship, and Sigma Lambda Chi, Chi Epsilon, Phi Kappa Phi, and Tau Beta Pi honor societies
