Glen Jackson “Jack” Walters, a retired Division of Campus Planning, Infrastructure, and Facilities building tradesman, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 7. 

He was a joy to be around and had a great sense of humor.

Walters was born June 21, 1934.

He was a skilled finish carpenter at Virginia Tech. And his craftsmanship can still be appreciated in the Owens Banquet Hall.

Walters will be remembered for his love of hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed talking about his experiences doing either. He was a great husband, father, and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Edgar and Jessie Williams Walters, and daughter, Ellen McGuyer.

Survivors include his daughter, Shirley Walters; son, Glenn A. Walters; life partner, JoAnn Phillips; granddaughter, Holly Dickerson; adopted son, Harvey Hill (Sherry); and many other relatives and friends.
