Dear Colleagues,

I am excited to announce the start of the 2022 Commonwealth of Virginia Campaign (CVC) and truly honored to serve as this year’s honorary CVC chair for Virginia Tech.

The campaign runs from Oct. 6 to Dec. 9. This year is special, as we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the CVC. Since 1997, the CVC has been an important way for commonwealth employees to safely and easily donate to their favorite charities.

Last year was a tremendous success for Virginia Tech’s campaign, and I know that we will come together to not only reach, but exceed, this year’s goal of $400,000. Virginia Tech employees are exceedingly generous. Since 2010, Virginia Tech employees have donated nearly $4 million to charities in Blacksburg, the New River Valley, and across Virginia.

Let’s join together to make a difference by supporting organizations that provide services and support in the communities where we live and work. The charities participating in the campaign represent a diversity of missions, supporting all residents across the state of Virginia. With nearly 800 charities to choose from, I’m sure you’ll find a cause that is meaningful to you.

Every dollar counts. It’s not about how much you give — participation is our goal. There are multiple ways to give, which are detailed on the CVC donation page.

This year, we are moving to the state’s platform for giving. If you have questions or need assistance, please contact your department representative or steering team member. You’ll find a list of steering team members on the CVC website.

Together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of our neighbors in very important and meaningful ways.

Go Hokies!
