Julie Rosenberger, director of budget and finance at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine’s Office of the Dean, has been selected for the Emerging Leaders Program at the National Association of College and University Business Officers.

Now in its second year, the Emerging Leaders Program is a yearlong training program that focuses on leadership, higher education business models, communication, and professional growth. Attendees are selected for their dedication to furthering their careers and for their advancement potential, and they come from colleges and universities across the country.

Over the next year, Rosenberger will attend panels and breakout sessions and will work with small teams to complete projects. Rosenberger most looks forward to the networking opportunities that will allow her to see new perspectives.

“I hope this program will give me a better view of how other units, colleges, and universities do the same thing I do, how their systems work. I hope to learn best practices from people in my same position,” said Rosenberger.

Rosenberger came to the veterinary college in 2019 after working at the Virginia Tech Foundation, the Controller’s Office, and Pamplin College of Business. As director of budget and finance, she oversees the college’s finances.

"I like helping faculty and the college meet the mission statement of the college and meet their goals in clinics, research, or any initiatives that they have,” she said.

Founded in 1962, the National Association of College and University Business Officers is a nonprofit professional organization representing chief administrative and financial officers at more than 1,700 colleges and universities across the country. The association works to advance the economic vitality, business practices, and support of higher education institutions in pursuit of their missions.
