In memoriam: Keley Davis, Dining Services
Virginia Tech Dining Services' Operations Manager for Hokie Grill Keley Davis, 30, passed away on June 18.
Davis joined Dining Services in August 2011, and as an operations manager, built strong working relationships with dining staff members and students during the course of his tenure at Virginia Tech.
“Keley was an amazing member of our dining family, as he cared deeply for his team at Hokie Grill,” said Jeremiah Gardner, assistant director of dining services. “He was always there to make us laugh during tough times, and he truly cared about who you were as a person and not just the job at hand. Everyone who had the opportunity to have Keley in their lives is a better person for it. He just always knew how to bring the best out of you and always gave his everything to others.”
Davis was a member of the Boonie Goonies, and he enjoyed spending time with his brothers, especially his brother Marcus.
He is survived by his mother and her fiance, Brenda Nolen and Carlos Webb II; father and stepmother, Michael and Anzata Davis; brother, Marcus Webb; stepbrother, Alexander Miller; stepsisters, Chloe Webb and Shaniece Graham; paternal grandparents, Eugene Davis and Carolyn Martin; Carlos’ parents, Carlos and Patricia Webb; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The Davis family will receive friends at McCoy Funeral Home on Friday, June 24, from 5 to 7 p.m. in Blacksburg. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 25, at 10 a.m. at McCoy Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens of the New River Valley.
