Snow routes are no longer in effect for the Blacksburg campus.

The Southern Piedmont AREC closed at 10:30 today.

5:10 a.m.  

Sites in Roanoke, including the Virginia Tech Roanoke Center, Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC, the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, will open at noon today. The Virginia Tech Roanoke Center will open at noon today. The Animal Cancer Care and Research Center will operate on its normal schedule.

Jan. 2, 2022

8:28 p.m.

Due to inclement weather, administrative offices at the Virginia Tech campus in Blacksburg will be closed until noon on Monday, Jan. 3, 2022. University staff designated "emergency personnel" must report as instructed by their supervisor. Employees with a remote or hybrid work schedule should work online as scheduled. In-person employees should not report to work until noon.

In-person classes scheduled before noon have been canceled. All online classes will be held as scheduled.

Testing for COVID-19 will be delayed in Blacksburg until offices open at noon. Testing will take place between noon and 3 p.m. Check your email if you have an appointment.

Newman Library will open at noon on Monday.

The Blacksburg office of the National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Blacksburg and most of the Southwest Virginia region from 10 p.m. on Jan. 2 until noon on Jan. 3.
