From Student Affairs:

We are aware of the possibility of a significant winter storm over the upcoming weekend and know that this may interfere with your return to the Virginia Tech residence halls. In response to this, we are announcing an update to our COVID-19 testing policy. If you have submitted your COVID-19 negative test on Jan. 12 or later, it will be honored through Monday, Jan. 17. This change extends the 72-hour requirement and enables more flexibility with travel plans.

Students and families can also consider moving in before or after the storm. Returning students can arrive as early as Friday, Jan. 14 at noon. Students are also welcome to move in on Monday, Jan. 17, but should keep in mind that most university offices are closed for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Please check weather and road conditions prior to traveling back to Blacksburg and plan accordingly.

Check the Virginia Tech website and university status page frequently as relevant weather impacts, road closures, and other information will be communicated there and across university social media channels.
