October 7, 2021 – A ribbon cutting and grand opening of the Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC Addition takes place Oct. 12 at 4 Riverside Circle in the Health Sciences and Technology Campus in Roanoke.
The state-of-the-art, 139,000-square-foot facility is currently occupied by six Fralin Biomedical Research Institute faculty-led teams studying new approaches to treat cardiovascular disease, cancer, and neurological disorders – leading causes of death in the U.S. When fully occupied, the building will house approximately 20 additional scientific teams.
The $90-million expansion features labs, meeting spaces, and offices to accommodate 400+ additional Virginia Tech researchers, students, and staff in Roanoke, as well as highly specialized equipment and research facilities.
