Sept. 10, 2021 - Construction of the Virginia Tech Innovation Campus in Alexandria starts Sept. 14 with a groundbreaking ceremony in North Potomac Yard.

“This signature academic building will provide the space and environment for our faculty, students, and partners to collaborate and seek technology solutions to challenging societal problems,'' Vice President and Executive Director Lance Collins. “We are committed to building a technology campus that attracts and develops diverse talent and bolsters the greater Washington, D.C., metro area as one of the nation’s most innovative tech hubs.”

When: 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14. Please arrive by 3:45 p.m.

Where: The event will take place on the site of the future home of the Innovation Campus in Alexandria’s North Potomac Yard, near the intersection of Potomac Avenue and Reed Avenue (3625 Potomac Avenue). Street parking may be available; additional parking can be found at the Mattress Firm Potomac Yard (3925A Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22301). A shuttle from this lot will transport guests to the event every 10 minutes, starting at 3:40 p.m.
