Zachary Schrock, of Gladys, Virginia, passed away at his home on June 9, 2021. Schrock was a rising sophomore majoring in animal and poultry sciences in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. He was 19 years old.

Schrock was born in Lynchburg, Virginia, on April 8, 2002, son of Mark L. Schrock and Jennifer Stevens Schrock of Gladys. He was a member of Kedron Baptist Church and an employee of American Plastic Fabricators.

He was a graduate of XLR8 Stem Academy at Central Virginia Community College and William Campbell Combined School. He enjoyed helping all of his family members. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, and rescuing reptiles. His favorite place to fish at Virginia Tech was the Duck Pond.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Hannah Claire Schrock; two brothers, Ethan Marcus Schrock, Joshua Len Schrock; maternal grandmother, Sara W. Shorter; great-grandmother, Jessie D. Wade; paternal step grandmother, Susie Schrock; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Amos E. Schrock and Lydia I. Schrock.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, at Kedron Baptist Church by the Rev. Shelton Miles with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. (one hour prior to the service) at the church. The family requests that those unvaccinated wear a face mask.
