Update - Nov. 10

In reference to the crime alert that was sent to the university community on Nov. 9, the suspect has been apprehended by law enforcement. Additional information regarding the incident may be released publicly by the investigating agencies at their discretion.

On Monday, Nov. 9, at approximately 2:34 p.m., a carjacking occurred in the 800 block of University City Boulevard, Blacksburg. The suspect displayed a handgun and took a vehicle from the victim. The suspect is a white male, 5'08, 165 pounds, brown hair, and blue eyes. The subject was last wearing a black hoodie, and face mask.

This subject is also suspected of being involved in a shooting in Roanoke County earlier today. The stolen vehicle is a white 2006 Toyota Corolla with Tennessee registration BTG-251. The vehicle was last seen on University City Boulevard traveling in the direction of Prices Fork Road. This subject is considered armed and dangerous. If this vehicle is spotted, please keep a safe distance from it and call 911 immediately.
