Virginia Tech Board of Visitors to meet Nov. 15-16

The Virginia Tech Board of Visitors will hold its quarterly board meeting on Monday, Nov. 16, at 1:15 p.m. in Latham Ballroom A/B (audience to be in Latham Ballroom C/D/E/F) at the Inn at Virginia Tech and Skelton Conference Center (901 Prices Fork Road) on the Blacksburg campus.

On Sunday, Nov. 15, board members will attend an information session to be held in open session from 1 to 2:15 p.m. also in Latham Ballroom A/B.

During the board's two-day session, the following committee meetings will be held:

On Monday, Nov. 16, the Academic, Research, and Student Affairs Committee will meet jointly with the Finance and Resource Management Committee in open session from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in Latham Ballroom A/B. The Academic, Research, and Student Affairs Committee will then meet in closed session from 9:30 to 10 a.m. in Latham Ballroom C/D/E/F, followed by an open session from 10 to 11:45 a.m., also in Latham Ballroom C/D/E/F.
On Sunday, Nov. 15, the Buildings and Grounds Committee will meet in open session from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in Latham Ballroom A/B. This committee will meet jointly with the Finance and Resource Management Committee in open session from 4:30 to 4:45 p.m., also in Latham Ballroom A/B. Following that meeting, the Buildings and Grounds Committee will assemble in the lobby of the Inn at Virginia Tech to tour the university’s power plant.
On Nov. 15, the Compliance, Audit, and Risk Committee will meet in closed and open session from 9:30 to 11 a.m. in Latham Ballroom A/B. The committee will then meet jointly with the Governance and Administration Committee in open session from 11 to 11:30 a.m., also in Latham Ballroom A/B.
The Finance and Resource Management Committee will meet Nov. 16 in closed session from 9:30 to 10 a.m. in Latham Ballroom A/B. The committee will then meet in open session from 10 to 11:30 a.m., also in Latham Ballroom A/B.
The Governance and Administration Committee will meet in open session on Nov. 16 from 10 to 11:45 a.m. in Assembly Hall of the Holtzman Alumni Center.

During the two-day meeting, board members will receive reports on utilities and energy management initiatives, campus sustainability, and the University Ombuds Office, as well as updates on the Innovation Campus in Northern Virginia and the university’s strategic plan. Board members will also receive a design review of the Corps Leadership and Military Science Building and will consider resolutions on the Virginia Tech Climate Action Commitment, the university’s crisis and emergency management plan, and the 2020-21 operating budget adjustment.
