The final weekend of September will see action from Virginia Tech teams in women’s soccer, volleyball, and cross country.

Fall sports at Virginia Tech will compete without fans in attendance until further notice. Tech football, volleyball, men's soccer, and women's soccer matches will be played with only essential staff and family members of the student-athletes in attendance. The Virginia Tech volleyball team will open its ACC slate by playing host to North Carolina. The first match is Thursday at 8 p.m. ET, with coverage available through the ACC Network. The second contest is on Friday at 5 p.m. ET on the ACC Network Extra at Carilion Clinic Court at Cassell Coliseum.

Virginia Tech Women’s Soccer plays its home opener Friday evening against #11-ranked University of Virginia. The game begins at 6 p.m. and can be seen at ACC Network Extra and followed at

“We’re excited about the opportunity to play back at home at Thompson Field and in front of a home crowd,” said Head Coach Charles “Chugger” Adair. “I think it’s something that will be a nice welcome for our student-athletes and something great for us after coming off the road after three big games. Friday night will be our second opportunity to play our in-state rival Virginia. We’re looking forward to the match and getting back to playing on Thompson Field.”

The Virginia Tech Cross Country team will host an Invitational Meet at the Buford Meredith Cross Country Course on Friday, with the women’s 6K race starting at 5:15 p.m. and the men’s 8K race at 6 p.m. Teams from Virginia Tech, North Carolina State, and Duke will compete. No spectators are allowed at the meet.
