Lyric Theatre

The Lyric Theatre, home to live performances, local artists, and a variety of films, allows students to be entertained while supporting the arts in Blacksburg. Whether you are in the mood for movie theater popcorn or want to stay warm on a cold night, the Lyric is always a great option.

On Dec. 21, take advantage of the theater's free screening of "Elf" at 10 a.m.

Nestled between mountains, Virginia Tech students have access to a variety of hiking trails in the Blacksburg area. Each trail varies in difficulty and all offer beautiful landscapes to explore.

Roanoke day trip

Take the SmartWay bus from Blacksburg to Roanoke for $4 each way. Once you're there, hike up to the Mill Mountain Star, visit the Pinball Museum, or grab a bite to eat in the historic downtown Market Building.
