The University Libraries, which includes Art & Architecture Library, Northern Virginia Resource Center, Veterinary Medicine Library, Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine Library, and Newman Library locations, offers many unique services in addition to what libraries traditionally provide.

The University Libraries houses fully equipped studios and spaces for data visualization, virtual and augmented reality, 3D printing, media design with sound booths, audio mixers, video cameras and editing stations, and a collaboration studio with dedicated space for students to work together with peers.

It also offers technology lending services. Students check out laptops from stations located on the second and fourth floor of Newman Library. Technology needed for coding, multimedia, and research projects is reservable through our Multimedia Design Studio and bookings.lib.vt.edu website.

Each college has a dedicated library liaison to provide one-on-one research help, including brainstorming a topic, developing a search strategy, and navigating library resources. University Libraries’ experts also provide consultations surrounding research data management, data ethics, and data visualization.

Explore the expertise and resources available to you through the University Libraries’ online guides for undergraduate and graduate students and faculty.
