The Moss Arts Center presents two free summer chamber music concerts featuring an inspiring range of works performed by acclaimed musicians who have shared the stage with some of the world’s greatest orchestras and music ensembles.

The two performances will be held on June 20 and June 22 at 7:30 p.m. in the center’s Anne and Ellen Fife Theatre, located within the Street and Davis Performance Hall at 190 Alumni Mall. All concerts are free and open to the public and require no tickets for admittance.

The award-winning musicians participating in the chamber series have performed with some of the world’s most renowned orchestras and music ensembles, including the Vienna Philharmonic, Tel Aviv Chamber Orchestra, Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Shanghai String Quartet, and South Bohemian Chamber Philharmonic (Czech Republic).

The concert on June 20 will feature Shmuel Ashkenasi and David Ehrlich, violin; Katharina Kang and Michael Klotz, viola; Coleman Itzkoff, cello; and Kwan Yi, piano, and will include performances of Fauré's Piano Quartet no. 2 in G minor, Op. 45; Shostakovich's Piano Quintet, Op. 57; and Schubert's Trio, no. 1 in B-flat major, D. 471.

The concert on June 22 will feature Ashkenasi, Ehrlich, Kang, Klotz, and Itzkoff, and will include Mozart's Divertimento for String Trio in E-flat major, K. 563; Mendelssohn's Viola Quintet in B-flat major, Op. 87; and Bolcom's “Incineratorag” for string quartet.

Parking is available in the North End Parking Garage on Turner Street. Virginia Tech faculty and staff possessing a valid Virginia Tech parking permit can enter and exit the garage free of charge. Limited street parking is also available. Parking on Alumni Mall is free on weekdays after 5 p.m. and on weekends.
