Virginia Tech inducted 12 outstanding students into the 2019 cohort of Aspirations Fellows on May 5 at the annual Student Affairs Recognition Banquet.

Aspirations Fellows embody the Aspirations for Student Learning and serve the university and its extended community in unique and inspiring ways. They represent the pinnacle of achievement in the spirit of Ut Prosim (That I May Serve).

The 2019 Fellows are:

· Brendan Coffey, a junior majoring in multimedia journalism in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences and minoring in leadership and social change; philosophy, politics, and economics; and literature.

· Christine Faunce, a sophomore double majoring in neuroscience and chemistry in the College of Science and minoring in Spanish.

· Sam Felber, a junior majoring in political science in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences and minoring in war and society and peace studies and violence prevention.

· Danielle Garrett, a senior double majoring in cognitive and behavioral neuroscience and psychology in the College of Science and minoring in leadership and social change.

· Julianna Jones, a sophomore majoring in industrial and systems engineering in the College of Engineering and minoring in business.

· Hanna Kiryluk, a junior double majoring in animal and poultry sciences in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and minoring in French and leadership and social change.

· Aidan Kuester, a junior double majoring in history and public relations in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences and minoring in war and society.

·  Margaret O’Meara, a senior majoring in communication studies in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.

· Tyler Pugh, a sophomore double majoring in industrial and systems engineering in the College of Engineering and Spanish in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.

· Danielle Sperry, a junior double majoring in psychology and human development in the College of Science.

· Hannah Stratton, a junior majoring in public relations in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences and minoring in leadership and social change.

· Emily Warwick, a sophomore double majoring in international relations in the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences and public and urban affairs in the College of Architecture and Urban Studies, and minoring in music and Spanish.

The celebration featured special guests from across the university, including President Tim Sands; Vice President for Student Affairs Patty Perillo; Vice Provost for Undergraduate Academic Affairs Rachel Holloway; Senior Associate Vice President for Alumni Relations Matt Winston; and various college deans or representatives.
