Host of academic, recreational, and administrative spaces get a refresh by Virginia Tech Facilities
Students, faculty, staff, campus visitors, and four-legged friends alike will benefit from a host of recently completed Virginia Tech Facilities renovation projects.
The noncapital construction team had a busy fall and early start to 2019, completing a wide range of interior and exterior renovations in university facilities across the state.
Among the renovation projects completed between November 2018 and February 2019 are:
- Math Emporium: Installation of a new 200-seat testing lab replacing a large space previously used for storage.
- Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center Fout Barn: Installation of new exterior siding and installation of new enclosed interior exam areas.
- Lane Hall: Installation of new flooring throughout offices and corridors.
- Burruss Hall: Interior renovations of Suites 123 and 315, including installation of new flooring throughout and conversion of a file room into meeting space in Suite 315.
- Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine: Installation of the “Shilo” howling beagle statue and supporting concrete padding and lighting for the statue.
- Virginia Tech Athletics: Installation of a new soccer and lacrosse scoreboard and supporting infrastructure at Thompson Field.
- Rec Sports: Renovation of restrooms by the intramural sports fields.
- Olympic weight room: Renovation of weight room space in Cassell Coliseum and installation of new storage room.
- McComas Hall: Installation of a new roof.
