Virginia Tech continues to shine in 2019 Princeton Review rankings
Virginia Tech continues to receive accolades among 384 colleges and universities listed in The Princeton Review's rankings for 2019. The university was recognized in the top 20 for six categories, including:
· Town-Gown Relations are Great #2
· Their Students Love These Colleges #3
· Best Campus Food #3
· Best Quality of Life #7
· Happiest Students #14
· Best Alumni Network #17
In addition, the university is lauded as a Green College and is among the Best Southeastern Colleges That Pay You Back.
Vice President for Student Affairs Patty Perillo said the annual rankings are representative of dedicated employees who believe in a holistic approach to student development.
“Virginia Tech is an incredible community, and these results reflect this,” Perillo said. “Faculty, staff, students, and the local Blacksburg community all work together to ensure the well-being and success of each other, but especially of our Hokie students.”
"We picked the 384 'best' colleges for our book primarily for their outstanding academics; we highly recommend each one," said Robert Franek, The Princeton Review's editor-in-chief and the book's lead author. "However, we know applicants need far more than an academic rating or ranking to find the college that will be best for them. We created our 62 ranking lists to help narrow that search. They are based entirely on data we gather beyond academics that give insight into what the schools' enrolled students say about their professors, administrators, school services, campus culture, and student life. In the end, it's all about the fit.”
Rankings are organized into 62 lists across eight categories and are based on 138,000 college students’ ratings of their schools. The Princeton Review’s 27th annual rankings are included in The Best 384 Colleges guidebook and are accessible online.
