The U.S. Department of State recently updated the Worldwide Caution to travel abroad. All Virginia Tech employees and students traveling are encouraged to review this update.

Additionally, all Virginia Tech travelers are reminded of the requirements of Global Travel Policy 1070. In preparation for travel abroad, Hokies must register their plans with the Global Education Office (GEO) and enroll in Virginia Tech’s policy of Cultural Insurance Services International (CISI), a medical and security assistance insurance, before departure.

All students traveling (except those participating on Virginia Tech faculty-led study abroad programs) are required to conduct their due diligence by completing the Hokie Sentinel Global Travel Assessment (HSGTA).
