Virginia Tech researchers to showcase innovation at Nov. 1 symposium

The Biocomplexity Institute’s Research Symposium on Nov. 1 will feature an array of groundbreaking discussions, poster presentations, and networking opportunities with top researchers in the biocomplexity field.

Lunch will be provided to all registered participants, and festivities will conclude with an open wine and cheese reception featuring poster presentations by more than 40 Virginia Tech research teams. Online registration is open through Oct. 30.

President Emeritus Charles Steger and Vice President for Research and Innovation Theresa Mayer will deliver the keynote address, with opening comments by Chris Barrett, executive director of the institute. The keynote will feature a discussion about the university’s research mission and the institute’s integral place in that mission.

Panel discussions about the institute’s research will follow, highlighting the “molecules to policy” theme.

“This symposium will highlight our original aspirations, and showcase our contributions while setting the stage for the next evolution of biocomplexity research,” Barrett said.
